EEG based stress analysis for video game play
Project type
Undergraduate research thesis
Date
August 2019
Location
Khulna, Bangladesh
This project investigates the impact of video gaming on stress and relaxation using Electroencephalogram (EEG) analysis. It explores how different types of video games (puzzle, strategic, and combinational) affect gamers and non-gamers. The study uses the Beta-to-Alpha ratio (BAR) to denote mental stress and analyzes the impact of low, medium, and high pitch music on relaxation. Findings reveal that non-gamers experience more stress than gamers, and strategic games are the most stressful. For relaxation, low pitch music is most effective. The study employs mathematical modeling of stress and relaxation, providing insights for future game design and mental health awareness.
